Lost in the Maze

Wandering streets that have no name

Chasing shadows in a hollow game

My compass spins I’ve lost the track

Every step feels like a step back

Mirrors show a face I don’t know

A fading ember where fire used to glow

I scream out loud but it fades to air

No one listens no one’s there

I’m lost in the maze of my own mind

Searching for something I can’t find

A spark a sign to light the way

But the night keeps stealing the day

The stars above they mock my fight

Dancing far in their endless light

I reach but touch the empty sky

And wonder why I even try

A whisper says the path’s inside

But I’m too tired to trust the guide

Every turn just feels the same

This endless search it has no name
