Fading Echoes of Me

Shadows fall, I stand alone

Lost in echoes of my own

World so cold, no place to call

Feeling like I let it all fall

Every face I’ve loved has gone

Left me with this hollow song

They used my weakness, played their part

Left scars inside my broken heart

I'm just a second choice in their eyes

Punished for unseen dark skies

No control, it’s out of hand

Drowning in what I can’t understand

Would the world be better if I disappeared?

Would they even care if I wasn’t here?

Thought I found a home, a place to belong

But I was wrong, I’ve been so gone too long

Sometimes I feel I should just fade away

Leave behind the pain and the fray

No one would cry, no one would see

If I left this world, maybe I’d be free

But still I hold on, a trembling line

Hoping maybe someday I’ll shine

For now I’m lost, a silent cry

Waiting for the day I might fly
