My Truth, My Clarity

I stand tall on this ground,

With my heart unbound,

No chains to hold me down,

I’ve found my way around.

Once I danced in shadows,

Chasing dreams like a high,

Clouds of smoke in the rearview,

But I learned how to fly.

My world was painted in colors,

That faded with every pill,

Now I see the sunlight,

And no longer chase the thrill.

I’ve walked through the fire,

I’ve faced every fear,

Found the strength inside me,

No more whispers to hear.

I don’t need your drugs,

I have my sobriety,

These arms are wide open,

I’m finally free.

With each breath that I take,

I’m rewriting my fate,

Stone by stone, I build my home,

In the light of my clarity.

Echoes from the past try,

To steal what I’ve regained,

But I’ve built this foundation,

Through the losses and the pain.

Days may be hard, yeah,
