Prompt / Lyrics
Woke up today with that quiet smile, nothin’ too loud, just that feeling like, “Yeah, this might be one of them days.” Sun slid through the blinds, coffee in the air, and the house started fillin’ up with the best kind of noise—kids talkin’, grandkids laughin’, little feet runnin’ around like they own the place. We got stuff done too, not just chillin’—cleaned up, fixed a few things, handled calls, made sure tomorrow’s a little easier than yesterday. Productive, proactive, but still full of love. Every time I looked around, I thought, “This right here is wealth. This is what people chase and don’t even know it.” When the day clocked out, the night clocked in. Threw on somethin’ clean, hit the club with the crew, and let the music take over. Didn’t matter what the DJ spun—techno, electric, dubstep, R&B—if it had a beat, we moved to it. Lights flashin’, bass thumpin’, everybody in their own little world but somehow all together. No drama, no tension, just pure release. We laughed, we danced, we forgot about bills and problems for a while and just existed in the moment. And somewhere between the bass drops and the slow jams, I caught myself wishin’ every day could feel like this—family in the daylight, friends and music at night, heart full and spirit light. But here’s the truth: days like this are proof, not accidents. Proof that good still lives in this world, that joy is still out here waitin’ on us to show up. You don’t control everything life throws at you, but you do control how you show up for it. You choose to be present with your kids, to pour into your grandbabies, to handle your business instead of runnin’ from it. You choose to step out, dance, laugh, and let yourself feel alive. And when you stack enough of those choices, the positives start addin’ up—better relationships, clearer mind, stronger heart. So if I could send a message out of a night like this, it’d be simple: protect your peace, chase your joy, and build your good days on purpose. Love your people loud, work on yourself quiet, and never be too grown to dance when the beat drops. Life can be heavy, but it can also be beautiful—and nights like this remind you which side is worth fightin’ for.
