Long Drink to Life

Raise your glasses high, let’s toast to what’s been,

To every twist and turn, the loss and the win.

Under neon lights, the night spins around,

Street noise and laughter, in this local town.

Thanks to the sky, for all the ups and downs,

Challenging the soul, but still I wear my crown.

Sometimes I stumble, nearly fall,

But I find my way, through it all.

In every stumble, there’s a reason I see,

A toast to the past, and the life that’s free.

I take a sip to remember life,

To every scar and every smile,

I took another sip to thank my parents,

Who raised me up all the while.

And when the night gets cold, and dreams feel far away,

I pour another drink, and I start to pray.
