Shadows and Dawn

Watching through the window, I see the shadows fall

Tonight’s the night I wonder if I can still hear my call

Fingers on the strings, whispering a storm,

Heartbeats skipping, like a broken metronome,

Lightning in my veins, sparking through the dome,

Every word a firework, popping in my poem.

The mirror's cracking, but it ain't the glass,

It's the weight of my stare, heavy, won't let it pass,

Moonlit shadows creeping through the grass,

Chasing the echoes of a life I can't grasp.

She pours another glass, drowning out her fears

Lost in the haze, through the smoke she disappears

I want to hold her close, but she's drifting away

In a world where the spirits drown what she can't say

I'm tired of the silence, tired of the pain

Wanna find a future where we both can gain

Hear me in the silence, I need you to see

A love that lifts us, wild and free

Lightning in my veins, running wild, untamed,

Every spark a memory, can't keep it chained,

Feel the surge, the rush, the joy, the pain,

Lightning in my veins, I’ll never be the same.

Time's a thief, stealing seconds from my wrist,

Dreams slipping through my fingers like mist,

Hope's a candle, flickering in the abyss,

Fate’s a joker, playing tricks with a twist.

City lights blinking Morse code to the stars,

Wounds stitched with melodies, hiding the scars,

Every chord a lifeline, pulling me from afar,

Words like comets, burning bright, bizarre.

Electric pulse, it’s a symphony in the dark,

Shocking revelations igniting the spark,

A million volts dancing, leaving their mark,

I’m the conductor, orchestrating my arc.

I need someone who rises up, not just falls down

Someone who’s strong on her feet, not lost in a cloud

I want a life that builds, not a cradle of booze

A love that’s healthy, honest, and renewed

Break the chains, breathe in new air

Find the strength to show you care

We can turn this around, start anew

A healthier love, just me and you

So here’s my plea, I hope you hear

It’s love that’s fighting through the fear
