From the valley of shadows, my voice starts to break,
Every promise You whispered is keeping me awake.
I am sinking in silence, the water is high,
But I’m reaching for mercy, oh Lord, hear my cry.

Out of the depths I am calling Your name,
Break through the darkness and silence my shame.
My soul is waiting, more than watchmen for dawn,
On Your word I will stand till the shadows are gone.

If You counted our failures, oh who could remain?
But You cover our history with grace through the pain.
So I wait in the stillness, I rest in Your power,
You're my rescue, my healer, my fortress this hour.
