the blessed sun, it beamed down
and caressed the soft buns, with its warm rays
,it's aroma could never make me frown, I'd pray for another one
I've never felt so proud
it's fillings, so perfectly selected
unwilling, to bite on a sandwich so perfected.
the lettuce so crisp in every crunch, like the ice in the frigid arctic ocean
the tomato so sweet in every punch , spilling out with all the emotions
I took more bites, crunched louder than the last
ketchup on my chin, I should've never asked
another bite and
the fillings slipped out the back at last
oh no...oh no... I couldn't recognize the weight or the size
I glanced down and couldn't believe my eyes
it was a lifeless mound of a small mouse!
teeth stained with cheese and belly of a louse
it was half way gone, already in my mouth
digesting done, my mind went south
the flavors already settled into my tongue,
I'll never know peace after this song is sung
so young, was this mouse
it's blood on my lap
