I laughed so much, I reached so high,

but evil kept me small, I can’t deny.

It never let my star shine bright,

it trapped my light in the darkest night.

Until the day when one thing was clear:

I had to return where my laugh rang near.

I had to go, for I was a threat

to the evil — and that’s no regret.

Evil has no power over me,

I shine again, forever free.

I can love, I can laugh out loud with pride,

live my life with my heart open wide.

My heart forgives, in peace and in light,

love’s shining flame brings me back to life.

The star in me burns with a steady fire,

it shows me love that will never tire.

Evil could never bring me down,

my light will never turn around.

I have awoken, the night is done,

the sky has opened, I’ve found the sun.

The star in me whispers soft and true:

“Live, live — I’ll be here for you.”
