Previously…
A million dollars.
Two friends.
One secret phone.
Rondo thought Pedro was his brother…
until that phone started ringing.
But here’s the part nobody knew—
the heist wasn’t Pedro’s idea.
And Rondo?
Rondo was never supposed to walk away.
⸻
[VERSE 1]
Rondo looked at Pedro, said, “Bro, explain this shit,”
Pedro stayed quiet, couldn’t even look at him.
Phone started ringing, vibrating on the floor,
Rondo picked it up like, “Who the hell is calling me for?”
Voice on the line said, “You finally found it?”
Rondo froze—Pedro looked like he knew something.
“Found what?” Rondo asked, his heartbeat getting faster,
Voice said, “Ask your boy… he been working for us after.”
Rondo turned around like, “Pedro, what he mean?”
Pedro dropped his head, said, “It ain’t what it seem.”
“Man, quit playing with me—tell me what’s the truth.”
Pedro said, “Rondo… they been watching you.”
“Watching me?”
“Yeah…
The whole time they knew what we was planning.
I wasn’t supposed to be your partner…”
Pedro took a breath.
“I was supposed to be your handler.”
Rondo stepped back like the room got smaller,
“Man, we grew up together, you my fucking brother.”
Pedro said, “I know… that’s what made it hard.”
Then Rondo saw his picture sitting on Pedro’s dashboard.
Dates.
Times.
Pictures.
His whole life… documented.
⸻
[CHORUS]
It was never just the money, it was bigger than the score,
Pedro knew the truth before they ever hit the door.
Rondo thought his brother had his back through the night,
But Pedro had a second phone and somebody giving him the light.
Million-dollar heist, now the truth coming out,
Everybody got a secret when the pressure gets loud.
Two friends started together, now they’re standing on opposite sides,
Rondo wasn’t betrayed that night—
he’d been betrayed his whole life.
⸻
[VERSE 2]
Rondo grabbed the money, said, “So why’d you bring me?”
Pedro said, “Because they needed somebody they could see.”
“They knew I’d never take it, they knew I’d never fold,
but they knew you’d risk everything just to get us out the cold.”
Rondo looked at the cash—“So whose money is this?”
Pedro said, “That’s the problem…
you don’t know what you took.”
Silence.
Then Pedro pulled another envelope from the table,
Inside was a picture and a name written on the label.
Rondo looked down—his face turned pale,
The picture was his father…
a man he thought had died in jail.
Pedro said, “Your father started this years ago.
The million ain’t the prize, bro…”
“It’s bait.”
Rondo stared at Pedro, tears mixing with rage,
“Why you ain’t tell me?”
Pedro said, “Because they would’ve killed you before you reached this stage.”
Then headlights hit the window.
Cars outside.
Pedro whispered,
“Rondo… they’re here.”
Rondo said, “Then we ride together.”
Pedro shook his head.
“That’s the problem, bro…”
He stepped toward the door.
Only one of us was supposed to make it out.”
Rondo looked at him like he was looking at a stranger.
Pedro turned around one last time:
“I’m sorry.” It’s a setup
