Purpose In My Steps

Every sunrise hits the pavement, new day in my chest,

Got a mission on my mind and a fire I can’t suppress.

Between the chalk lines, hallways, the whistles and the tests,

I walk with meaning in my stride — yeah, I’m guided, I’m blessed.

Kids lookin’ for direction, life be throwin’ ‘em the storms,

I’m steady in the middle where the future starts to form.

I’m standin’ on a promise that my Savior keeps me warm,

Even when the world is loud, His voice is my reform.

Pressure hit, I rise — that’s the purpose in my steps.

Faith up in my lungs — that’s the power in my breath.

Call me for the moment — yeah, I give it all that’s left.

Jesus in the center — He the reason I’m my best.

There’s purpose in my steps, every heartbeat in His plan.

When the road gets heavy, I just trust where I stand.

Teacher, coach, believer — yeah, He shaped who I am.

I walk my walk with Jesus — I ain’t movin’ off His hand.

Late nights, long drives, tryin’ to balance every lane,

Home life, school life, workouts in the rain.

It’s a lot upon my shoulders but His strength remains,

And I carry every burden knowin’ grace sustains.

I ain’t perfect — I’ve stumbled, lost battles, felt weak,

But He restores every crack when the future’s lookin’ bleak.

I live loud in my calling, in the words that I speak,

Tryin’ to show ‘em all a Savior who defends the meek.

Every lesson, every season, every day I give —

He’s the reason I’m alive, He’s the reason that I live.

If my walk can spark a light in the hearts of these kids,

Then I know I ran the race in the way Jesus did.
