Signs of Yesterday

Back in the day, we knew how to treat, yeah

Took it slow, kept it real, no rush, no cheat

But now the streets are racing, hearts are breaking

Where did we lose our way?

Walking on the sidewalk, minding my own

Signs all around, telling us to slow down

But people drive like they own the town

Running red lights, the lines all broken down

Got something heavy dragging behind

Trying to cross over, clear in my mind

A sign up, it's plain to see

'Stop here for pedestrians,' simple decree

But folks don't care, they just press on

Lost in a rush, till the break of dawn

What happened to kindness, what happened to calm?

Now it's chaos, it’s a deadly harm

Use your eyes, see what's in front of you

Lives are precious, every single one

Slow it down, don’t make me run

This world’s too fast, we’re losing everyone

We used to look out for each other, it's true

Now it's just rush, rush, no regard

We need to change, heal this scar

Respect the signs, respect the safety
