The hard driven lessons
That I’ve had to learn
The hard bitten bridges
That I’ve had to burn
Friends become enemies
So easy the change
There’s blood on my hands
But it doesn’t feel strange
The age of the enlightened
Has now turned the page
Love and forgiveness
Replaced now with rage
None will remember
The things that I’ve done
Except for the sorrow
That I brought with the gun
Existence a sad story
Poured in a deaf ear
Here but for the glory
For its heaven I fear
My eyes slowly darken
The end drawing near
To the angels I harken
For its heaven I fear
The sweet taste of losing
Is feeding the urge
As we all dance together
To the funeral dirge
The war is long over
None left who defends
All that goes around
Comes around in the end
The age of the enlightened
Has now turned the page
Love and forgiveness
Replaced now with rage
None will remember
The things that I’ve done
Except for the sorrow
That I brought with the gun
Existence a sad story
Poured in a deaf ear
Here but for the glory
For its heaven I fear
My eyes slowly darken
The end drawing near
To the angels I harken
For its heaven i fear
With head hanging lowly
In judgement I stand
In hope of that pardon
That’s long since been damned
Here but for the glory
For it’s heaven I fear
For it’s heaven I fear
