I won’t be broken

I was a shadow in my own skin. locked out 
locked in
whispers in the dark 
silent screams louder than words could begin.
  He said come closer, let me see
Should’ve ran away, but fear took me. 
He sneaked up in the darkness while I was asleep broke my trust left my soul to weep.
The doctors eyes
The lawyers grin 
Painted guilt where none should have been. 
They shattered my mirror, made me feel small, taught me to hush, hide it all.
   I carried their shame like a tattooed stain.
Told my heart to never complain.
I put up walls just to silence my pain.
I stood my ground,
I found my voice,
I made the choice to rise.
I’m stronger than the storm,
I won’t break apart.
healing every scar, 
mending my heart. 
     Memories flash like waves in the stream, but I wash it all away 
no longer hidden,
no more shame. 
 I am reborn 
Truth in my voice, words unspoken 
   I have reclaimed my name.
