Shadows in the Dark

Whispered fears in the dead of night,

Shadows creep, and I’m losing sight.

In the alleyways where the phantoms play,

Whispers echo, begging me to stay.

Silhouettes lurking, dark figures don’t lie,

Breathing down my neck, can’t tell you why.

Heart pounds heavy, like the bass in my chest,

Every corner I turn, it’s a ghostly quest.

Eyes wide shut, covering what I see,

These shadows, they’re alive, haunting me.

Dancing on the walls, they twist and they bend,

Creeping in my mind, they’re family, my friends.

Lost in the depths of this midnight maze,

I’m trapped in a nightmare, lost in a haze.

Shadows, shadows, they follow my track,

Whispers of the lost, got me watching my back.

They crawl from the corners, they blend with the night,

Shadows in my mind, out of view, out of sight.

Running through dreams where the nightmares play,

Shadows in the corners, they seem to obey.

Fingers reaching out, and they claw at my skin,

Waking from the dark, but the fear creeps back in.

Echoes of laughter where silence should reign,

Shadows are the voices, driving me insane.

Cloaked in the night, they synchronize with dread,

I’m chained to the whispers, it’s the life that I led.
