I received a Bible in my Sophomore year of high school. May 28th 1976 is when my Grandma signed that little white King James version Bible with the broken zipper.
How I cherish that beat up little Bible, I would never give it up.
I did my first walk with God then!
I was confirmed in the church that year. You needed to be 16 to go through confirmation then.
My Grandma gave me that beautiful holy Bible as a gift for my confirmation. How I cherished that Bible and the words of our wonderful God. She wrote the sweetest verse in that beautiful little white Bible, it read as this. "May God always hold you in his hands and bless you". Taken from Numbers 6:24, what a blessing my Grandma was to take such a beautiful biblical verse to write in my Bible. I still have that beat up little white Bible to this day. It has seen better days, the word I will cherish everyday and keep it close to my heart, forever.
I pray when I'm no longer on this Earth and in heaven with my heavenly Father. Someone in my family will treasure my little white Bible with the broken zipper and receive peace or a blessing, holding it dear to their heart as I have since May 28, 1976 I love you Grandma and miss you.
