In crowded streets I walk alone,
A smile painted on my face like a stone.
But behind this mask so carefully drawn,
There's a heart that's aching, torn apart by dawn.
I'm wearing the mask of happiness,
Hiding tears that no one sees but me.
I laugh with friends when I'm feeling sadness,
This lonely battle is where I'll always be.
When night falls and silence fills the room,
The truth emerges from its hidden tomb.
Alone in darkness, I let out a sigh,
My soul cries softly as I wonder why.
Oh, if only they could see beyond these lies,
Beneath the surface, broken dreams arise.
Would they still love me or turn away their eyes?
I'm wearing the mask of happiness,
Pretending joy while inside there's pain.
I'll keep smiling through life's endless madness,
Till someone finally breaks this silent chain.
So here I stand, an actor on this stage,
Performing roles to fit each page.
One day perhaps I'll find true peace at last,
Until then, I'll wear this mask I've cast.
