When the Dragon Calls

I came here as a stranger

With battle scars and dust

A kingdom torn by dragons

A man who'd learned distrust

But England gave me shelter

And more than I deserved

I found a place worth fighting for

A life I thought I'd earned

You came across the ocean

With storms behind your eyes

A soldier carrying burdens

And ghosts you couldn't hide

But somewhere in the struggle

Between the tears and flame

The man the world called Strongcastle

Became much more than a name

Now the dragon calls from far away

Across the sea once more

Duty pulls us from these shores

Like it has before

Though England fades behind the clouds

And home grows small below

Wherever we may sail from here

Part of us stays so

I walked these streets with wonder

Saw London dressed in light

Watched airships cross the sunset sky

Like silver birds in flight

I've buried friends in English soil

And laughed in English halls

Now Armageddon wakes again

And duty gives the call

I knew this day was coming

Since first I took your hand

The world won't let a Strongcastle

Belong to just one land

The drums are sounding westward

Beyond the ocean foam

And though my heart is breaking now

Where you go is home

Now the dragon calls from far away

Across the sea once more

Like it has before
