Lost in the Loop

Caught in the shadows, chasing the light

Feeling forsaken, lost in the night

Every dawn breaks the same old story,

Work in the silence, chasing fleeting glory

Sweat on my brow, hope in the ruins,

Watching the world, its endless illusions

Is this the meaning, the purpose I chase?

Or just a game I can't erase?

Standing on the edge, looking below,

Questioning what I really know

Betrayed by the meaning, caught in the loop,

Running through shadows, trapped in this truth

They laugh and they play, wealth on display,

While I'm just lost, fading away

Fools with their fame, shadows of glory,

Play their own game, writing their story

But behind the masks, what do they see?

Is that all there is to be?

So I keep walking, through the same old sands,

Seeking my purpose, my own stand

Maybe someday, the truth will appear,

Till then I wonder, year after year
