Waiting For The Rain

Empty halls remember laughter

Whispers crawl along the floor

Dust collects where time has ended

Since her footsteps sound no more

I move like smoke through these halls

Pictures stare at me,.....taughting me, I want to rip them off the walls

I'll light her a candle

But the flame burns weak...

It's the peace in death that I seek.

I'm waiting for the rain to fall

To drown the silence in these walls

I'm out of my time, out of my mind

Since the day she said goodbye

I'm waiting for the rain… to wash me dry

Clock hands turn but mean nothing

The world outside just rolls on by

I whisper her name into darkness

And breathes out one more sigh

No prayers left for the living

No fears left of the end

I'd trade the stars and every sunrise

Just to be with her again.
