Nothing Left to Lose

Whispered prayers in the midnight air,

Seeking solace, I lay my soul bare.

Heart like a prayer, trembling in the dark,

Hoping you'd catch it before it falling apart.

Held me like a burden you could not bear,

Left me crying out to a god unaware.

Years go by, but the pain remains,

Love's a song that lost its refrain.

Truth given, and pain received,

Walking through fire, trying to believe.

I’m just a soul battered and bruised,

Standing tall, confused and used.

Rising up, though I am hurt,

Nothing left but my own worth.

So I soak in rain, walk through the flames,

Searching for hope, calling out your name.

Bruised but unbroken, fighting to prove,
