The cup cools on the table
The clock insists on not resting
Outside, the city is uncertain
And I, inside, am learning to wait
I opened the window, the wind blew a warning
That time doesn't stop for us to meet.
It's not about the rush to reach the end
It's about the silence that lives within me
And the colors I haven't yet seen.
I'll let the sun in through the cracks
I'll burn the map and change direction
Life is what remains of these cracks
It's what beats strongly within the heart.
(Oh, what beats in the heart...)
I cut the excess, I left what weighs me down
I traded "maybe" for "now I will"
The road is long and the soul is in a hurry
To simply be all that I am.
And if the world spins too fast
I'll invent my own dock
I'll find my own peace.
I'll let the sun in through the cracks
I'll burn the map and change direction
Life is what's left of those cracks
It's what beats strongly inside the heart.
One step at a time... Time will bring the rest.
