Consuming me

This fire burns, deep down inside,

A battle rages, nowhere to hide.

The chains are tight, I'm losing grip,

Drowning in shadows, on this sinking ship.

I scream out loud, but it's all in vain,

This life of chaos, it's driving me insane.

This addiction consumes me, it steals my breath,

A puppet on strings, drawn closer to death.

It lies to me softly, I’m caught in its snare,

With every confession, I’m threadbare and bare.

Whispers in darkness, echo my pain,

A twisted fate, we dance in the rain.

Each breath I take, just fuels the flames,

This raging storm, it knows my name.

This heart of stone, it beats for control,

A mind in turmoil, it eats at my soul.
