The story lives on from the Delaware River
Of the naval ship called the Cyclops
With a loaf of manganese ore 2 thousand tons more
Then the ship could possibly carry
They said it was alright and they will manage
So they left for the north unwillingly
The engineers wired in saying the engine was cracked
Again they wired in saying the ship was overfilled
So they made a stop at the Barbados
They were told that the ship was properly secure
Since it was properly secure there was no reason to stop
So on March 4th they left for the north once again
Swallowed by the vicious water
No wreckage ever found
No survivors to be saved
The waves keep on moving
And the story of the cyclops lives on
Everything was well and the ship was alright
The captain wired in saying weather is fair
That would be the last wire from the Cyclops
On March 13th they were due for Baltimore
But the ship never made it home
Swallowed by the vicious water
No wreckage was ever found
No survivors to be saved
The waves keep on moving
And the story of the cyclops lives on
