🎤 Social Preachin’
Yo, my Social Studies teacher saw it comin’ –
Warned us all, “this world’s gonna be throwaway somethin’.”
Houses built with pulpwood, sawdust in the frame,
Every piece the cheapest – man, that’s a shame.
Cars on computers, wrapped in aluminum shields,
Plastic bumpers, Styrofoam packin’ the wheels.
Top-of-the-line ride, but the price too steep,
We’re payin’ for junk, but the junk don’t keep.
My lunchbox? Plastic, Styrofoam, fake forks,
Single-use world — man, we’re cuttin’ the cords.
Teach was preachin’, but there’s one thing he missed —
Throwaway people in a throwaway twist.
High school love fizzled like soda gone flat,
I watched love die young, yeah I been through that.
Since age four I studied people like a preacher,
Learned life lessons — yo, the world was my teacher.
Four scores later, I ain’t a drifter —
Found my anchor, my ride-or-die, my keeper.
Life hit different when you love with respect,
Less than 10% still together — that’s the check.
Phones I replaced? Coulda bought me a car,
Upgraded my screen, but did it take me far?
Dead whales on the beach wrapped in plastic grief,
The ocean cries out, and the world’s the thief.
Time to rethink, time to rebuild,
Time to nurture somethin’ real, somethin’ skilled.
Teachie said conserve, and now I know it’s true —
Not just the earth, but the love we pursue.
Conservation ain’t just bottles and cans,
It’s holdin’ each other, reachin’ out hands.
Relationships need water, sun, and a fight,
Feed ’em every day, keep the fire burnin’ bright.
So let’s ride forever, never toss away,
Build with love that don’t decay.
Think again, my people, the future we’re makin’ —
Love ain’t disposable, it’s there for the takin’.
