From Darkness to Light

From shadows deep where darkness dwelled,

I lived in night, my story tells.

But then a whisper, soft and clear,

Brought a dawn I’d never known before.

Born in darkness, no light to guide,

Sin was my blanket, my only friend,

Evil was my shadow, my constant tide,

Hating the daylight, the truth I’d condemn.

But something shifted, a gentle sound,

Gospel preached, in grace I found,

A spark of hope, a tender flame,

That called my soul, and eased my pain.

Light broke through my broken heart,

Tearing the darkness apart.

Now I see a world so bright,

God’s love shining, shining light.

From coal-black night to dawn's first glow,

Grace transformed me, made me whole.

Once I was lost in shadows deep,

Now I walk in the sunlight’s sweep.

Torn and shattered, pieces mend,

By mercy’s grace, my life transcend.

Torn apart but now made new,

My eyes are open, love is true.

Darkness fled, my soul’s reborn,

In the dawn, I found my dawn.
