This Season of Grace
by Robert Ramage
Intro
Snow falls soft on silent streets,
But some hearts are wide awake,
Counting prayers instead of sheep,
Trying not to break.
Verse 1
Some homes are warm, some tables full,
Some laugh without a care,
Others stare at overdue bills,
And whisper silent prayers.
Kids look out the window wide,
At lights they can’t explain,
Parents hide the worry lines,
And carry all the pain.
Verse 2
They’re choosing rent, they’re choosing food,
Choosing hope somehow,
Trying hard to keep their faith
From falling down right now.
It’s hard to stand your ground this time,
When darkness feels so near,
Holding on with trembling hands,
Just to make it through the year.
Chorus
So hear this prayer we’re lifting high,
For every broken heart,
Bring light into the longest nights,
Right where the hurting are.
And if we’ve been blessed with more than enough,
Don’t let our hearts stay blind,
Teach us love is how we give—
The truest gift we find.
Verse 3
This season gets so wrapped in things,
We forget what matters most,
Chasing moments money buys,
While others feel like ghosts.
So open up our eyes again,
To neighbors we pass by,
The quiet need, the hidden tears,
The help they never cry.
Verse 4
For parents strong but worn down thin,
Trying not to fall,
Let them feel Your steady hand
When they’ve given all.
Remind them love outshines each gift,
And grace outweighs the cost,
That no one giving all they have
Is ever truly lost.
Bridge
Bring us back to Bethlehem,
To humble truth and light,
Where hope was born with nothing else
But love that holy night.
Not what we buy, not what we own,
But hearts that freely bend,
Turning gratitude to action,
Strangers into friends.
Chorus (Repeat)
So hear this prayer we’re lifting high,
For every broken heart,
Bring light into the longest nights,
Right where the hurting are.
And if we’ve been blessed with more than enough,
Don’t let our hearts stay blind,
Teach us love is how we give—
The truest gift we find.
Outro
This season of grace, let mercy lead,
Let kindness be our song,
A prayer in every helping hand,
Where Christmas truly belongs.
