Innocence Lost

In the shadows, I took my stand,

Echoes of laughter, a haunting band.

Memories flicker like a dying spark,

Innocence lost, my childhood was dark.

They called me names, threw stones with glee,

In a world so cold, I couldn't break free.

Drowning in silence, screamed in my head,

Hiding my heart in a blanket of dread.

Pushed to the edge, but I won't fall,

Through the darkness, I learned to stand tall.

With God on my side, made it this far,

A chosen spirit, I'm ready to spar.

In the halls of the system, I found a new home.

Voices of hate can’t take what love brings.
