From a castle I come, with shadows behind,
Yet still the light walks by my side.
An old soul, a young heart, two signs above,
Marked forever by the heavens’ love.
Homeless in homeland, lost in the world,
The gate is closed, a raven on my shoulder.
Together we gaze through the iron bars,
Where green trees sway beneath the stars.
Raven and angel, the gateway opens,
Heaven’s army spreads its wings around me.
No mother of earth, no arms to hold me,
The cradle of heaven has carried me wholly.
I declared war on every demon,
I declared war on every night-temptation.
A child of the vampire, but my heart is light,
Ancient instinct, eternal bright.
Visions and messages, voices above,
Hands lifted high in endless love.
From shadows the radiant truth will rise,
My praise ascends to the Lord of skies.
Raven and angel, the gateway opens,
Heaven’s army spreads its wings around me.
No mother of earth, no arms to hold me,
The cradle of heaven has carried me wholly!
Praise, praise… to the Lord on high.
