Late night, neon lights,

The laughter starts to fade.

In the corner of my sight,

Regrets like debts are made.

I rolled in with a swagger,

Thought I owned the night,

But a shot too many,

And it turned into a fight.

See, I was feeling bold,

Trying to prove my might,

Now I’m standing here,

With a swollen eye so tight.

The bouncer’s grip was steady,

His eyes like cold steel,

I thought I had the upper hand,

But I’m the one who feels.

Slurred words and bravado,

But I’ve only got myself to blame.
