I'm known as the baptiser!

Hey I'm John, a Jewish prophet and cousin to our Lord Jesus Christ! I was considered the last Old Testament prophet.

I preached about repentance, and lived in the Judean wilderness. I wore camel's hair and ate locusts and feasted on wild honey.

I'm known as the baptiser!

I bathed people in the Jordan River...

I cleansed their sins and made them new in the eyes of God!

I preached about the coming of the messiah!

I baptised people as a symbol of turning away from sin and preparing for judgement. When Jesus came to be baptized, I recognized Him as the Son of God, witnessing the Spirit descend like a dove.

I was beheaded in a prison cell.

I lost my head for my faith in the Lord!

My ministry culminated in baptizing Jesus, after which I pointed his followers to Jesus, saying, "He must increase, but I must decrease".
