Crossroads in the Street

Footsteps on the pavement, heartbeat in my chest

Watching that truck rollin', pushing through the stress

Walking down the road, eyes on the street

A big old truck comin’, I quicken my feet

Should I step aside or just keep my pace?

Deciding in a moment, no time to waste

If I move left, will it move right?

Or will we just pass, in the fading light?

Feels like a game, a dance with fate

Gotta choose wisely, can’t be too late

Should I go away, or stand my ground?

Waiting for the right moment, to look around

If I shift my way, will it follow?

Or will we collide, or just go solo?

Hold my breath, stay still in the lane

Caught in the moment, haunted by the pain

Nature’s rhythm, a whispered sound

Should I stay or move, or be unbound?

The truck passes by, I let out a sigh

Life’s small decisions, make us live or die

Walking on, with a little more grace

Facing the road, and the unknown chase
