**My heart jumps for joy in the Lord!**
**My strength rises high in my God.**
**I laugh at my foes—I've won the fight,**
**rejoicing in the victory he's given me.**
**No one is holy like the Lord,**
**no Rock like our God alone.**
**Don't brag or boast with proud words,**
**God knows all and weighs every deed.**
**He breaks the bows of the strong,**
**and arms the weak with power.**
**The full go hungry for bread,**
**but the starving feast on plenty.**
**The childless woman bears seven kids,**
**while the mother of many grows weak.**
**The Lord brings death and gives life,**
**sends down to the grave, raises up.**
**He makes some poor, others rich,**
**lifts high the lowly ones.**
**From dust he raises the needy,**
**from ashes seats them with kings.**
**The earth's foundations are his—**
**he sets the world upon them firm.**
**He guards the steps of his faithful,**
**but cuts off the wicked in dark.**
**No one wins by their own strength.**
**The Lord shatters his enemies;**
**the Most High thunders from heaven.**
**He judges the earth to its ends,**
**gives strength to his king,**
**and lifts high his anointed one.**
*My whole being praises the Lord,**
**and my spirit is thrilled with joy in God, my Savior.**
**He has noticed me, his humble servant,**
**and from now on, everyone will call me blessed.**
**The Mighty One has done great things for me—**
**amazing, powerful things!**
**His name is holy.**
**His mercy lasts forever**
**for all who honor and fear him,**
**generation after generation.**
**With his strong arm, he scatters the proud**
**and those with big plans in their heads.**
**He pulls the mighty down from their thrones**
**and lifts up the lowly.**
**He fills the hungry with good things**
**but sends the rich away empty-handed.**
**He helps his servant Israel,**
**remembering his promise of mercy**
**made long ago to Abraham and our ancestors,**
**forever and ever.**
