The Puzzle of You and I

I fell apart, moved away from who I was, in hopes to complete a puzzle that’ll never fit right from the start.

I broke down piece by piece over analyzing my faults till I cut my hands on the paper holding everything you want.

All the glitz and the glam to the trips and the grands stealing every bit of me.

All the pain and the hurt to the tears and the blood nothing left of my sanity.

But all of that is in the past,

And like before it’ll never last

The wrong place and the wrong time,

The puzzle’s meant to never align

The moral of our story writes

You had your problems, as did I

You never changed and I never tried

To stitch the rips that we had made

When the pieces fell, it hurt like hell, when I told you we’d never find the right pieces again.

But I’ll change and escape this life as a new

And I hope the one that I fell in love with lives in your past too
