At Camlanne’s felde, the swords dyd clattere,
But Merlynne’s myght dyd quiete the mattere.
Hys runes and spell-craft seald the fate,
Of Arthurre’s kyngdome, both erlye and late.
Through fyres brenne and dragonnes crye,
Merlynne foresawe hys kyng must die.
Yet hys wyzardrye, it helde fast,
In magyck lay hys future cast.

An oathe of blyssed fayth, as fayries could.
For hys powerre waxed in hidden places,
Guardynge kyngdomes and all the races.

But Merlynne’s tale woulde be the beste.
