Shadows in My Mind

For what lay in my mind, the shadows play and hide

Can't seem to find peace, in the silence of the night

Dreams cutting like a blade, leaving scars unseen

A battle in my head, a lost and broken dream

I need to live, I need to grow, find my strength and show

Whether I sleep or stay awake, I keep fighting just so

To keep hope alive, for others’ sake, I smile despite the ache

Stand tall in your sight, with courage bright, no matter what it takes

But I can't stay here, it's far too much to bear

Demons in the dark, whispering my despair

Gotta hold on tight, find the morning light

In this endless fight, searching for what's right

Oh, I’m fighting through the night, trying to find my way

Lost in shadows, chasing dawn, for a brand new day

Hold on to the fight, don’t let the darkness stay

In my mind’s eye, I see the morning rain
