Golden clouds and warm summer breeze,
Birds singing in eucalyptus trees,
Crimson dirt stained boots,
Thick scrub and native fruits,
The outback is where I be,
Light a fire, a snack and some hot tea,
Watch the horizon as the night rolls in,
Admire the whole universe whilst the crickets sing,
Sky looking like sugar spilt along a black marble bench top,
Makes me feel so small on this floating rock,
I doubt there’s another one quite like this,
With all its beauty, it’s bliss in the abyss,
That’s the outback for you, oh yes it’s true,
Ain’t nothing as beautiful as it, except maybe..
