what is to say about the sun-
i’m bored of it, it is no fun-
it yells all day and burns my skin-
i hide inside where shadows win

but moon you see when daylight fades-
and only when the dark prevails
you come out soft, you never shout-

under the moonlight’s charm we gather-
and there our greater senses falter-
we whisper things we shouldn’t know-
the night keeps secrets daylight won’t allow

we dance in silver, slow and wrong-
our hearts forget the morning song-
we trade our names for quieter ones-
made out of mist and almost-gone

and when the sun comes up to shine-
our tears are washed away by light
everything we felt turns fake-
like dreams you lose when you’re awake

i miss the moon when day begins-
