Shadows stretch like old regrets

They dance where the light forgets

Footsteps soft on hollow ground

A broken heart makes no sound

Whispered shadows call my name

Cold as winter

Sharp as shame

I reach but they just drift away

Death walks with me every day

Fragments of a life once whole

Cracks run deep inside my soul

The mirror shows a face I knew

But it's fractured

Faded

Split in two

Fingers grasp at empty air

Dreams unravel

Threads laid bare
