The voices in the dark, they whisper lies about my name

They try to count my scars and hold me captive to the shame

But people who criticize you behind you are beneath you

They don't hold the pen that wrote my story, they can't delete you

I had to learn the hard way that trust is only earned

Through every bridge I walked across and every lesson learned

Now I walk with a backbone, I know who I am

I won't bend to the crowd or the rules of the scam.

But out of the ashes, I found my flight

God raised me to be a conqueror, lifting my head to the light

When the storms of the valley begin to howl and descend

God hides us in His wings, my shelter, my friend

Yeah, His care never hurts, it only heals the break

I'm a believer, watch the chains shake!

I've carried heavy crosses up a steep and rocky hill

The fire forged my courage, and it’s burning brighter still

Perseverance is a muscle that was built in the pain

Overcoming every obstacle, dancing in the rain

Awesome power of God, it's shaking the ground

I'm stepping into purpose, hearing a victorious sound

They tried to make me fit their box, but I break out the frame

I am who I am, and I’ll never be the same.

Look me in the eyes and love me the way I am

No filters, no pretending, no Hollywood scam
