Veils of Silence

In the silence of seven long years,

Memories echo with forgotten tears,

A wedding whispered on June's warm breath,

But the bonds of blood spell a kind of death.

Daddy's voice replaying in my mind,

"Your mother was flawed, leaving love behind,"

He painted her gray, in shades of regret,

Yet every word he spoke, hadn't I learned to forget?
