Nature’s Calling
Birds outside my window
Awaken me to mornings light
Their song is an orchestra
Starting my day off bright
I feel so blessed
Nature soothes my soul
The woodpecker head banging
He’s my rock n roll
The sparrow whistling at the top of the tree
He thinks I’m sexy
He’s whistling at me
The owl keeps asking questions
Who?Who? Who?
My favorite bird is the little one
His feathers are Caribbean blue
The eagle soars above me
He is a protector, I am told
His wings, magnificent and bold
The cardinals in my apple tree
A symbol of true love
I keep my eyes on the sky
To see who fly’s above
Multiple songs I hear throughout my day
In this sanctuary
I hope they are here to stay
The whipper will, the bobwhite
Sing in a cappella
The vulture
A strange looking fella
Sometimes I sit eyes closed
Just counting different songs
This comforts me
It rights the worlds wrongs
There is therapy in nature
If we take the time to see
All we have to do is go outside
Sit quietly and just be.
