Shadows of the Abyss

The moon hangs low in the inky sky

Whispers crawl where shadows lie

A crooked path where nightmares dwell

Every step leads closer to hell

Shadows creep they pull me near

Breath of death whispers in my ear

Eyes unseen they watch they stare

A chilling grip hangs in the air

The trees they groan with ancient pain

Roots like veins in the earth remain

Echoes scream through the hollowed wood

I’d run away if I only could

The ground it quakes the darkness feeds

A curse unleashed on wicked deeds

No escape from this endless night

Lost in the void no trace of light
