In the time before time
When God was not yet God,
When matter was not yet matter,
When the beginning had not yet begun,
When God summoned God, then it happened:
First Day
In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.
And He separated the light from the darkness.
Second Day
God divided the waters beneath the firmament from those above.
And thus, He created the sky.
Third Day
The hand of God parted the land from the waters.
And He commanded the earth to bring forth grass and fruit.
Fourth Day
The hand of God fashioned the lights in the heavens
The greater to rule the day, the lesser to govern the night.
Fifth Day
God said, “Let the waters bring forth all manner of fish,
And let the birds fly across the sky.”
Sixth Day
God created the other animals,
And then He said, “Let us make man in our image.”
Thus, He created man.
Seventh Day
Creation was complete,
And God rested, beholding His perfect work.
Thereafter
When God was God,
When matter was matter,
When the beginning had begun,
When God called upon man, He said:
1 You shall have no other gods before Me.
2 You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
3 Remember to keep holy the feast days.
4 Honor your father and your mother.
5 You shall not kill.
6 You shall not commit impure acts.
7 You shall not steal.
8 You shall not bear false witness.
9 You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife.
10 You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.
