Like a calendar on my clock face

Ticking away the years

At a crescendoed pace

Months seem like moments now

Days a melted blur

I still clearly remember how

It felt like holding her

Those Smiles and doe like eyes

Are cemented in my mind

And on the face of this newcomer

You’ve grown up so fast

No more cuddles and bubble baths

No more bumps in the night when you needed to hold my hand

I was who you cried for and now I cry for you

You’re the image of my child

But look how fast you grew
