Silent echoes in the dark, where shadows hide the scars

You painted heaven in a language I couldn't read,

Whispered forever while you still wore his ring.

Said your heart was mine but your hands never let go,

Built me on promises that never made it home.

I should've known when the guilt kept me awake,

Loving someone else's love was my biggest mistake.

So I walked away, thought I was doing right,

Didn't know I'd become the villain in your eyes.

Then your name lit up my phone again,

Said, "He's gone, can we try this instead?"

I believed the tears, believed the change,

Guess I never learned from yesterday.

Opened every wound just to settle the score.
