Prompt / Lyrics
Baby girl wrapped, in a little pink blanket. Born into a world her mama wasn’t even sure of yet. But when she looked into her eyes, she made a promise deep inside. To be the woman she needed her to be. She doesn’t know it yet…. but she’s right where she needs to be. When life gets hard, seems to get in the way. You’ll need to take it day by day. You’ll control the things you can, and some things you won’t. And yes you’ll try to make a plan, and then sometimes to understand. To ask for Gods grace when you don’t. You won’t know it then…but you’re right where you need to be. Teenage girl, with oh so many questions. People come and go, she feels like she hardly knows them. Late at night she sits and cries, will she ever feel enough inside. Or be half the person, everyone thinks they see. She doesn’t know it yet… but shes right where she needs to be. When life gets hard, seems to get in the way. You’ll need to take it day by day. You’ll control the things you can, and some things you won’t. And yes you’ll try to make a plan, and then sometimes to understand. To ask for Gods grace, when you don’t. You won’t know it then… but you’re right where you need to be. And when you turn old and grey. I’ll hope you look back and say. you lived and laughed and gave forgiveness when you should. Your babies will look up to you. try to be like the woman that they knew. The one who did just about everything she could. You did it all for them. Cause you were right where… you needed to be.
