Whispers of my reflection, fading in the night

Chasing shadows of what once felt right

Bending till I break, wearing a borrowed face

Living for the smiles, losing my own place

Caught in the mirror, lost in the crowd

Trying to find myself, but I can't somehow

Every echo of their laughter, I echo inside

Drowning in the silence where my truth tries to hide

I’m falling apart trying to hold everyone close

But I’m losing myself in the ghost they chose

Searching in the mirror for who I used to be

But I keep losing myself in the sea of their dreams

Standing in the shadow, hiding in plain sight

Fading into colors that aren’t quite right

Chasing after meaning, chasing after peace

But the more I try, the more I cease to be

Every whispered promise, every silent plea

Building walls around the part of me I need

I’m falling apart trying to hold everyone close

But I’m losing myself in the ghost they chose

Searching in the mirror for who I used to be

Is there a way back from this, to where I started?

To find the voice that’s been broken and guarded?

Lost in this maze, searching for the key

To free the stranger I used to be
